Hunters Searching For Bush Animals Rescue Abducted Victim In Ekiti
The hunters on Wednesday rescued a kidnapped farmer, Adewumi Babatunde in Ilemeso -Ekiti that was abducted at Omu Ekiti in the Oye Local government area of Ekiti State.
Newsflash Nigeria had reported four days ago that Adewumi Babatunde was abducted along Omu-Ijelu- Ayede-Ekiti road by unknown gunmen.
According to the report, Adewumi Babatunde was kidnapped on Sunday evening on his way from his farm between Omu-Ekiti and Ayede-Ekiti.
The wife of the victim, Mrs. Bosede Babatunde said the kidnappers had contacted the family and demanded three million naira ransom.
Investigations revealed that Adewumi Babatunde was rescued around Ilemeso -Ekiti farm by hunters.
An eyewitness of the community said the hunters combed the bush for searching for bush animals and one of them discovered that Mr. Babatunde was tied in the bush by gunmen.
The hunter raised the alarm and called his colleagues for help and he was rescued while the abductors escaped.
“Hunters from Ilemeso -Ekiti went on hunting for bush animals without even being aware that anybody had been kidnapped.
“The hunters combed the bush in searching for bush animals and fortunately, it was the same area kidnapped was tied as at that time”.
Meanwhile, the Ekiti State Police are yet to release at the time of filling the report.
