Before you proceed, you need to have the following examination details and a WAEC result checking scratch card, which has the PIN that allows you to access your result:
- Your WAEC examination number, which is a 10-digit number that starts with your 7-digit centre number followed by your 3-digit candidate number. For example, if your centre number is 4123456 and your candidate number is 789, then your examination number is 4123456789.
- Your examination serial number, which is a 4-digit number that is printed on your photo card. For example, if your serial number is 1234, then you need to enter it as it is.
- The year of the examination, which is 2023 in this case.
- The type of the examination, which is WASSCE in this case.
You can check your WAEC result either online or via SMS. To check your WAEC result online, follow these steps:
- Visit the WAEC result checker portal at [www.waecdirect.org].
- Enter your WAEC examination number in the first box.
- Enter your examination serial number in the second box.
- Select the year of the examination from the drop-down menu.
- Select the type of the examination from the drop-down menu.
- Enter your scratch card PIN in the sixth box.
- Enter your scratch card serial number in the seventh box.
- Click on “Submit” and wait for your result to be displayed.
To check your WAEC result via SMS, follow these steps:
- Send an SMS in this format: WAEC*ExamNo*PIN*ExamYear to 32327. For example, if your examination number is 4123456789, your PIN is 123456789012, and your exam year is 2023, then send WAEC*4123456789*123456789012*2023 to 32327.
- The SMS costs N30 on MTN, Glo, and MTN mobile networks.
- Wait for your result to be delivered to your phone as a text message.
