Ekiti kidnappers’ informant attempt to escape from police custody
A strong indication emerged on Sunday afternoon that an alleged kidnappers’ informant, Femi Akinola arrested by the Rapid Response RRS unit of Ekiti Police Command attempted to escape from police custody.
Newsflash Nigeria had reported that the Ekiti Police Command had arrested Femi Akinola on August 8, in connection with the abduction of two persons and killing of one other person between Ewu-Ekiti in Ilejemeje local government area, and Ayetoro-Ekiti in Ido/Osi local government area of Ekiti state.
Newsflash Nigeria had earlier reported that the victims were travelling in a Toyota Lexus 330 Jeep with registration Number: LAGOS- KRD 264 GV between Ewu-Ekiti and Ayetoro-Ekiti in Ido/Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State on that Friday evening when the incident occurred.
It was also gathered that the victims were guests of a former member of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon. Segun Erinle came to grace the funeral of his mother in his hometown, Ewu-Ekiti.

The victims were returning to their hotel rooms in Ayetoro-Ekiti, the neighbouring when they were waylaid by the suspected gunmen that shot one of the occupants of the vehicle dead, while a woman escaped from being abducted.
But sources revealed that Mr Femi Akinola secretly connived with some others in the police cell to break the wall and escape before the eagle eye of the police caught up with him.
The source revealed that the suspect was only trying to endanger his life as he noted that such an attempt would be met with stiff resistance by the fully armed to the teeth security guards on duty.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in the State, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Sunday Abutu, to confirm the development, denied the knowledge of the incident, adding that the suspect alongside others has been charged to court today (Monday) and remanded at the Correctional Centre in Ado-Ekiti.
