Ekiti 2022: APC screens eight governorship aspirants
The governorship election would take place on June 18 to elect a new governor when the incumbent Governor, Kayode Fayemi completes his second term in office on October 15.
Ahead of the January 27 Ekiti governorship primary election of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), the party has screened all the eight governorship aspirants in the State.
The aspirants appeared before the Senator Domingo Obende Screening Committee at the National Secretariat of the Party in Abuja on Tuesday.
Those screened by the committee are; former Minister of Works, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, current Senator representing Central, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, former Secretary to the State Government, Biodun Oyebanji, Mr Femi Bamisile and former Commissioner for Public Utilities, Mr Bamidele Faparusi.
Other aspirants are; Kayode Ojo, Mr Ademola Popoola and Arole Oluwatoyin Olusola Afolabi.

However, it could not be confirmed as of the time of filing this report if any of the aspirants were disqualified.
