Ekiti 2018 : FG set to unleash terror in Ekiti- PDP

The people’s Democratic party in Ekiti state has alleged the opposition All progressive Congress of organising another round of violence in warm up to the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

The party disclosed that the dastardly strategy is being hatched by the leaders of the APC mostly those in Abuja with the collaboration of the local executive of the party.

In a statement by the PDP state publicity secretary, Mr. Jackson Adebayo, the leadership of the APC in Abuja has called for memorandum on the state of their party in Ekiti state wherein apprehension was raised about the dwindling fortune of the party in the state due largely to the visible division among its ranks and unhindered popularity of PDP in the state.

Part of the submission to APC Secretariat by the leadership of the party in Ekiti state was that
Governor Ayo Fayose has initiated some projects across the state that will make it almost impossible to campaign against by the party in a run off to the election without any alternative to counter from APC Federal government, Adebayo said.

PDP pointed out that as a result of this the opposition party put forward an idea of serial violence that can distract the attention of the public from the monumental achievements of the PDP-led government so that it can become a war of words and regimented attack in order for the party to feel some presence in the state.

As part of the arrangements, PDP disclosed that a leader of the party came to Ekiti state during the last Christmas to inform members that the presidency had assented to the memorandum and set up a committee in that regards both at the national level and Ekiti state chapter to work in synergy.

The leader assured members that some security agents have been briefed about the plans in order to provide assistance as the situation may present itself during and after the planned series of violence by the party which some of those who attended the meeting suggested should start by this January, PDP stated.

PDP also disclosed that the APC leader who is a cabinet member of the Federal government boasted at the meeting that PDP chased him with dogs during the last governorship election in the state but he would chase them with lion in July election, adding that he would not mind bloodshed and destruction of property of anybody against his party.

Adebayo however maintained that no amount of intimidation or harassment will encumber members of PDP in Ekiti state from pursuing the tradition of victorious outing in the forthcoming governorship election by the party in the state, warning that anybody who thinks he can erect terror as a roadwalk to election in the state will meet his or her Waterloo.

The party called on the security agents in the State to beam its searchlight on the activities of the opposition APC in the state so as to ensure that the deadly strategy put on by it does not materialise adding that members of PDP will not fold their alms in the face of molestation.
