Edo Decides: Tension as one feared shot in Edo
the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Edo State, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has just cast his vote.
One person has been reportedly shot at Ologbo in Ikpoba Okah LGA, Edo State.
Contacted on the alleged shooting at Ologbo Dukedoom, the Enogie, HRH Jason Owen Akenzua, said he heard gunshots and when he contacted the DPO, he was told that it was police that fired shots when the place was rowdy.
“I heard gunshots and called the DPO Ologbo. He told it was police that fired warning shots to disperse the crowd when the place became rowdy. The area is calm and peaceful now.”
However, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Edo State, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has just cast his vote.
He voted at exactly 9:30am at polling unit 26, ward 5 in Iguododo community, Orionhwon Local Government Area.
He expressed the confidence that he would win the poll if the peaceful situation at his unit was the same everywhere.
Also, Edo Governor Godwin Obasekia, also a governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has arrived for accreditation and voting.
He arrived his polling unit at exactly 10: 24am accompanied by aides.
He has joined a long queue to vote.
