Court Admits Chicago University, NYSC Certificates Against Tinubu
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, have presented documents to the Presidential Election Petitions Court to challenge the academic and work records of President Bola Tinubu.
The documents include a B.Sc certificate from the Chicago State University, a NYSC Discharge Certificate, and a Mobil Nigeria Oil Plc certificate of service.
The PDP and Atiku brought the documents through their witness, Mike Enahoro Ebah Esq, who was subpoenaed by the court. He said the documents were “purportedly” obtained by Tinubu but bore the name ‘Bola Adekunle Tinubu’.
He also tendered the nomination forms and letters that Tinubu submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as attachments.
The PDP and Atiku are seeking to prove that Tinubu was not qualified to contest the 2023 presidential election based on his credentials.
However, the lawyers representing INEC, Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) all objected to the admissibility of the documents.
They argued that the documents were irrelevant, hearsay and inadmissible.
The defence lawyers are expected to cross examine the witness.
