Carnival: Ekiti Youths hold carnival in Calabar Style
The Supreme Council of Ikere Youths (SCIY) is an apex body for all youths in Ikere Community, it serves as an avenue for “consensus ad idem” and the empowerment of the people and to provide a common platform for all the structures of the youth council for the advancement of the course of the Ikere youths through enhanced social enlightenment, mobilization and coordination as a tool for complimenting the effort of government and other relevant stakeholders in youth development.
The objectives of the Supreme Council of Ikere Youth Council:
- To coordinate the various programmes of all Ikere affiliated Voluntary Youth Organizations.
- To study various problems
- Confronting the Ikere youths and find means of alleviating same.
- To enhance the promotion of the bonds of peace and friendship among Ikere youths and their global counterparts.
- To be responsible for the active mobilization of Ikere youths for youth development programmes nationwide.
- To contribute, comment and give recommendations on important issues as they relate to and affect the Ikere youths.
- To serve as a training ground for Ikere youths as future leaders of the town
The Supreme Council of Ikere Youths announces the array the events lined up for the end of the year 2017.
They are as stated below:
DAY 1: Thursday, 28th December 2017
- Unity Carnival Walk from St. Louis Grammar School to Oke Osun Area and Homage to Ogoga of Ikere Kingdom, HRM, Oba Adejimi Adu Alagbado
(Mobilizing above 1,000 Ikere Youths with customised vests).

• Stewardship Day
All current political officer holders to give account of stewardship
