Bandits arrested in Ekiti as School Principal, Teachers rescued
The teachers in Irele Ekiti Community High School in Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State have been rescued by combined security officers.
Newsflash Nigeria had reported that Mr Oladele, the principal of Community High School, Irele, two teachers and a nurse with a primary Health Care Centre were kidnapped on Monday after the closing hours along Oke Ako- Irele road in Ikole Local government area.
According to the report, the Principal who was among the victims had escaped through the bush on the second day they were abducted.
Newsflash Nigeria learnt that the remaining three staff of the Community School kidnapped by unknown Gunmen have regained their freedom.
It was gathered that the victims were released during a forest combing and combat attack on the criminals by The Joint Military Force, The Nigeria police, and the team of Operation EBBORAC of the Ajoni Local Security Network.
The victims have been taken to hospital for treatment having sustained injuries from their abductors who whisked them away on Monday to an unknown destination.
In an interview, the Chairman of Ajoni Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Prince Micheal Ogungbemi said a substantial part of the ransom paid to the abductors was recovered while some of the kidnappers were arrested.
Prince Ogungbemi noted that the Principal of Irele Community High School who was among the victim had yesterday escaped through the bush on the second day they were abducted
According to him, those arrested by the security operatives are currently assisting with how to arrest the remaining accomplices.
He promised that the council would mobilize the security agencies in the area for effective policing from now till the end of the year.
The chairman said the council has commenced what he called an operation to comb the bush and border town of Ajoni community with a view to ensuring that the residents celebrate the coming yuletide in peace.
