PHOTOS: Police kill two kidnappers, arrest three others in Ekiti
The operatives of the Rapid Response Squad of the Ekiti State Command of the Nigerian Police have killed two kidnappers in a gun duel in Kajola Forest, Ado Ekiti, the state capital.
The police also arrested three suspects while others escaped with bullet wounds during the operation.
Addressing newsmen in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday, the Command Public Relation Officer, Sunday Abutu said that items recovered included AK 47 riffles, 37 live ammunition, seven expended ammunition, one Tecno phone and military camouflage.
Abutu said: “Through the Command’s relentless effort to get the State rid of criminal elements, the Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, CP MORONKEJI O ADESINA, recently innovated and activated a bush combing operation across all jurisdictions in the State.
“This initiative has paid off as the operatives of the Rapid Response Squad(RRS) today 20/12/2022, through their bush combing operation around Kajola Forest Reserve, Ado-Ekiti, neutralized two(2) suspected kidnappers during a gun duel between the operatives and the kidnappers and arrested three of them, namely: USMAN DAHIRU, KABIRU ABUBAKAR and HAMMADU LAWAL while others escaped with bullet wounds.

- One(1) AK47 rifle
- Thirty-seven (37) live ammunition
- iii. Seven(7) expended ammunition
- One(1) Tecno phone
- Military camouflage.
