VIDEO: Protest Rocks Sagamu Over Killing Of Nigerian Footballer

In the early hours of Monday, February 24, the residents of Sagamu area of Ogun state have taken to the streets to protest against the alleged killing of a footballer in the area by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad in the state.

Recall that, Tiamiyu Kazeem, the Assistant Captain of Remo Stars Football Club was allegedly killed by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, in Sagamu on Saturday.

According to a Press release by the Remo Stars Football Club, Tiamiyu was picked up by SARS operatives on his way home from training with a colleague, on the allegation that they were Internet Fraudsters.

It was reported that Tiamiyu, after identifying himself as a Footballer was pushed out from the SARS vehicle by the Operatives and was crushed by an oncoming vehicle, which led to his death.

His death has generated some chaos in the town, with many calling for the prosecution of the officers involved in the sad incidence.

Although, the Police claimed that the young footballer was hit by a car after trying to escape, residents and eye-witness say otherwise.

Meanwhile, the residents numbering over a thousand stormed out at about 8:00 am calling for SARS officials to vacate Sagamu area.
