Youths stone Oyo Assembly Majority Leader, wife for neglecting constituency

Angry youths pelted with stones, at the Majority Leader of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Sanjo Adedoyin, popularly called Sanjay and his wife as a result of his neglect of members in his constituency since his emergence as a lawmaker and the majority leader.

The attack reportedly occurred at the Ogbomoso South Local Government meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

According to the Nation, there was an uproar when the lawmaker tried to enter the meeting which took place at Methodist Primary School, Arowomole, Ogbomoso.

A source informed the publication that when the lawmaker tried to enter the meeting, some of the youths started insulting him in the Yoruba language while some of them began to throw stones and pure water sachets at him as a result of his neglect of members since his emergence as a lawmaker and the majority leader.

He was also accused of locking the party’s Local Government Secretariat due to a feud between Governor Seyi Makinde and former Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Mulikat Akande-Adeola.

Adedoyin confirmed that he was injured from the stone attack but said that his wife was not harmed.

He maintained that the reason he decided to close the Secretariat was the leadership issue that rocked the recent party primary.
