You only lifted 10.5 million into poverty, death and anguish – Fayose attacks Buhari
Former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, on Saturday, has attacked President Muhammadu Buhari over the president’s claim on lifting 10.5 million Nigerians out of poverty.
The former governor said rather, Buhari lifted 10.5 million into poverty, death and anguish.
Newsflash Nigeria had reported that President Buhari claimed that his administration had lifted 10.5 million Nigerians out of poverty in the last two years.
Buhari stated this during a speech to commemorate the June 12 Democracy Day.
“In the last two years we lifted 10.5 million people out of poverty – farmers, small-scale traders, artisans, market women and the like,” Buhari said.

Reacting to the President’s speech in a series of tweets on Saturday, Fayose said Mr Buhari’s claim was a “presidential lie” as his government has left more Nigerians into abject poverty.
“That claim of lifting 10.5m Nigerians out of poverty is ‘Presidential Lie’ or in local slang, ‘Lori iro’.”
“I’m sure what he meant to say was that he has lifted 10.5m Nigerians out of wealth into poverty, death and anguish,” Mr Fayose added.
