Yoruba Nollywood actor, Gbatami, is dead

The Nollywood actor and producer, Olamilekan Ojo, popularly known as Gbatami, is dead.

Gbatami died in the early hours of Thursday after battling lung cancer for over a year.

Seyi Edun, the actress, announced his death in a terse post via her Instagram page.

“Rip Boss can’t believe this! Haa Gbatami,” she wrote in the post.

Gbatami was said to have begun his acting and filmmaking career under Adebayo Salami, the actor popularly called Oga Bello.

He started pulling the weight of fame in the Yoruba movie industry shortly after graduation in 2004.

Until his demise, the filmmaker produced and featured in several movies including ‘Emi nire Kan’, ‘Wonyosi’, and ‘Salaye’.

Several of his fans and colleagues in the movie industry have taken to social media platforms to pay their last respect to him.
