Yahoo Boy caught for plucking out his mother’s eyes for ritual

The Police operatives attached to the Orerokpe divisional headquarters, Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State arrested a yahoo boy identified as Emma Ereegarnoma for attempting trying to pluck out his mother’s eyes for money rituals.

According to the report said the incident occurred on Tuesday, September 14 at Caroline Street in Okuokoko Community near Warri.

It was gathered that the woman, identified as Oke Eregarnoma, a foodstuff seller was invited by his son to his house for a supposed surprise package.

It was gathered that the petty trader met her son in a very joyous mood with loud music playing from his home theatre.

After he welcomed her, he locked the door and tried to strangle her. Her cries for help were submerged in the loud music from the speakers.

However, she reportedly struggled with her Yahoo boy son until she was able to escape from his stronghold and raised an alarm.

Neighbours were said to have come to her rescue at this point, giving the suspect the beating of his life before he was handed over to the Police in Orerokpe Division, Okpe Local Government Area of the state.

His mother, while narrating her ordeal to journalists on a hospital bed where she was recuperating, recalled that before the attack, her son boasted that he “must drive GLK this week”.

The woman, who spoke on Tuesday around 8 pm, said “her son invited her to his house on Caroline Street, Okuokoko, having intimated her that he had a surprise package for her.

“On getting there, she said she saw him in an unusual joyous mood, as he increased the volume of his musical gadgets.

“Oke alleged that her son suddenly locked the door and made moves to strangle and pluck off her eyes, just as she screamed for help, adding that no one heard her due to the loud music.

“She said she regained her strength and ran outside for help, while neighbours came to her rescue”.

Police Public Relations Officer of the State Command, Mr Bright Edafe who confirmed the incident, said “We can’t ascertain anything for now.

“From our investigation so far, according to the woman, the boy did not use a machete or anything on her, but the woman is alleging that the boy wanted to use her for ritual.”

Edafe said the woman had been taken to the hospital where she is currently receiving treatment.
