Woman dies after collapsing during prayer session in Ogun church

A 75-year-old woman, Bisi Adewumi, has passed away after she collapsed during a prayer session at the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries in Ibafo, Ogun State.

The incident occurred on Thursday, November 2, 2023, around 5:30 p.m., when the woman was worshipping at the church auditorium, located along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. She was quickly taken to the church clinic for medical attention, but her condition did not improve.

The woman was then transferred to the Sagamu General Hospital, where she was confirmed dead while receiving treatment on Friday, November 3, 2023.

The head of security of the church, Pastor Ekikere Esiere, reported the incident to the Ibafo division of the Ogun State Police Command on Friday.

The police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, said that the investigation was still ongoing and that the corpse had been deposited at the hospital morgue.

Odutola also said that no relatives of the deceased had come to claim the body yet. She appealed to anyone who knew the woman or her family to contact the police or the church authorities.
