Wizkid, Burna Boy win first-ever Grammy awards
Nigerian superstar, Wizkid and Self-acclaimed African giant, Burna Boy have won their first-ever Grammy awards.
Wizkid’s song with Beyoncé ‘Brown Skin Girl’ won the best music video at the ongoing 63rd Grammy Awards.
‘BROWN SKIN GIRL’ by Beyonce, Blue Ivy, SAINt JHN & Wizkid’s took over the world in 2020 despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
Nigerians took to Twitter congratulating Wizkid.
Burna Boy, on the other hand, won the award for the Best Global Music Album ‘Twice as Tall’ on Sunday.
He was announced the winner at the ongoing 63rd Grammys awards.
The ‘African giant’ was nominated alongside other entertainers like Antibalas, Bebel Gilberto, Anoushka Shankar and Tianariwen.
Burnaboy’s latest album ‘Twice As Tall’ which was released in August 2020, earned him the award.
The album was produced by Telz, P2J, Timbaland, Leriq, Rexxie, Skread, Andre Harris, Jae5, Mike Dean, and many more.
It also featured guest appearances from Naughty by Nature, the Kenyan band Sauti Sol, Senegal’s musical titan, Youssou N’Dour, and Chris Martin of Coldplay.
