Wike Urges National Assembly Aspirants to Respect APC, Tinubu’s Decision for Nigeria’s Progress
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has advised aspirants of the National Assembly to respect the decision of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, for the sake of Nigeria’s progress.
Wike made this remark while noting that no President can perform effectively without the cooperation of the National Assembly.
He spoke to journalists in Abuja on Saturday, where he said that Tinubu had promised to unite every Nigerian and bring competence during his campaign.
He said: “It’s not going to be because you are members of APC or not, we want Nigerians with the capacity to help people deliver what will make Nigeria to be great.
“No President can do very well if he does not have that leadership that is not ready to cooperate with him. If you remember what happened in 2015, that affected the performance of the present administration.
“In the interest of Nigerians, let them respect the leadership of their party and the President-elect to move forward.”
Governor Wike, who has been serving as the governor of Rivers State since 20151, praised Tinubu for being fearless and outspoken and said he always spoke truth to power and said it as it was.
