Wike sealed off filling station, hotel belonging to Atiku’s supporters in Port Harcourt
The crisis of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has taken a new dimension in Rivers State as Governor Nyesom Wike sealed off hotels and relaxation centres belonging to Atiku Abubakar’s supporters.
Newsflash Nigeria learnt that some properties belonging to allies of the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, were sealed in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
According to reports, security operatives on Thursday sealed a filling station in Port Harcourt reportedly owned by a member of the House of Representatives, Chinyere Igwe.
The affected lawmaker is an ally of former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Austin Opara, who is a supporter of Atiku.
According to Daily Post, a hotel owned by Ikenda Chinda, a relative of Austin Opara, has also been sealed off.
Similarly, a lounge belonging to Ogbonda Jones, who is also an ally of Opara, has also been sealed up by the police.
No reason was given for the action of police operatives.
But Igwe, while reacting to the development on Friday, said the action of security agencies on his filling station is “politically motivated”.
This is coming two weeks after the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike warned that he would seal properties that is been used by politicians who are planning to destabilise the state.
While Rivers State Police Command was yet to speak on the incident, there are indications that the police operatives that carried out the action came from the Rivers State Government House.
