It is often said that what a man can do, a woman can do better… this has been proved not to be just a mantra but a reality because some set of women have gotten that track record which made them to stand out in the midst of a particular patriarchal society orchestrated by our culture and tradition.
Meanwhile, the same culture has also exonerated the female folk as being the pillar of support (opomulero).
Orin Ekiti, in Ido Osi Local Government Area and indeed Ekiti State are blessed with an illustrious daughter and one of such kind in Hon. Mrs Funmilayo T. Ogun.
She is one of our very own in Ekiti state in whom we are well pleased and blessed. Mrs Ogun is very diligent, respectful; she will never look down on any anybody and leave people better than she met them. This is not praise singing but commendation, we are writing our own history with what we do every day, she is writing hers and one of the highlights of that was the way she came out during the 2020 pandemic lockdown to stretch hands of love to other women folks in cash and kind, of course Mrs Ogun have written her name on the sands of time.

Her conscientious devotion to work and uplifting people is noticeable; no wonder the then governor of our dear state Dr Peter Ayodele Fayose made her Special Adviser on Widows Matter during his last administration where she excelled and later the Commissioner for Works and Transportation, A Special Adviser on widows matter.A former member of Southwest PDP caretaker committee, presently the Ekiti State PDP Secretary.
Mrs Funmilayo T. Ogun is a geologist by profession and still practicing.
A Yoruba adage says “yini yini keni o le semi”; I personally, on behalf of other women that benefited from your charity program during the pandemic year 2020 that you organized and made me the coordinator appreciates your kind gesture.
Keep soaring and keep harvesting bountifully.
All hail the Amazon!
