Why I Accepted PDP Offer To Run Against Ambode – Femi Otedola
Ahead of 2019 general election, the chairman of Forte Oil PLC, Femi Otedola, has accepted an offer from the People Democratic Party (PDP) to run against the sitting governor of the state, Akinwunmi Ambode.
According to the Publisher of Ovation Magazine, Dele Momodu, he states that Otedola personally confirmed the news to him, meaning he may potentially run against the incumbent Governor Akinwunmi Ambode or Jide Sanwon-Olu, one the Bola Tinubu favourite, who is likely to emerge as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), In 2019.
Dele in his twitter handle wrote, “Breaking news: Lagos 2019 promises to be interesting. PDP offers Femi Otedola governorship ticket. He’s accepted and personally confirmed to The Boss newspaper,”
Ambode has officially declared his interest for a second term, his interest was made known to his supporters at Alausa.
According to the governor while addressing his supporters at Alausa: I have seen visible proof that we can achieve unbelievable things when we all come together with no more than our belief in our dreams.
“We achieved because you believed. But there is still a lot more to be done. But I am not daunted. I am not tired. And I am sure you feel the same way because we all envision a better Lagos, a Lagos of our dreams.
“So, I humbly call you again, to give me your support as I seek to continue with your mandate to steer the affairs of our State. I ask you to believe again and together, let’s achieve more.
