We’re prepared for congress – PDP stakeholders
Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Niger State have declared that they are prepared for elective congress for delegates to freely pick their leaders devoid of any form of hindrance.
This was their resolution from separate meetings held in the three Senatorial Zones of Niger East, Niger North and Niger South on Tuesday in Bida, Minna as well as Kontagora areas of the state.
They resolved that all politics is local, therefore, every leader should fall back to his locality.
Also, the stakeholders thanked the National Working Committee for approving and fixing the 7th of August 2021 for the state Congress to elect a new set of leaders to run the affairs of the party for another four years.
A PDP stalwart, Usman Yahaya Baba, said all the members have reaffirmed their support for conduct of congress to enable members choose those who would lead the party in the state.

According to him, “There are no positions to be shared as PDP is a democratic party where all are free to vie for any positions in accordance with the party constitution and guidelines.”
Yahaya also stated that all the stakeholders have pledged to ensure that the Congress is a free, fair as well as rancour free in the state.
In attendance at the meeting were Senator Zaynab Kure, Professor Jerry Gana, Hon. Baba Shehu Agaie former speakers, commissioners and council chairmen in Niger South, as well as former Deputy Governor Dr. Shem Zagbayi Nuhu, and former Minister, Hon. Abubakar A. Tanko, party leaders, elected and appointed past officers of the party in Niger East and Niger North, respectively.
