Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has threatened to flog former Niger State governor, Babangida Aliyu for calling him a dictator.
Wike and Aliyu have been at loggerheads over a statement credited to the former Niger governor that the North would have lost out completely if former President Goodluck Jonathan got reelected.
Aliyu who was the chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum said after northern governors supported Jonathan to complete the tenure of late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, the former president was still allowed to contest in 2011.
He said PDP governors in northern states opposed Jonathan’s bid for a second term because he reneged on their agreement not to seek another tenure.
The former Niger governor also accused the Rivers governor of trying to play a godfather and a dictator in the PDP.
Speaking in Government House, Port Harcourt, on Monday, Wike described Aliyu as a serial blackmailer and a sore loser.

Wike said while he had led the PDP to victory in many elections in Rivers despite federal might, Aliyu had serially lost all the elections PDP contested in his Niger State.
He asserted that Aliyu lacked the capacity to lead the PDP to victory in his state because of his alleged woeful performance in the state and challenged him to point at his legacy projects throughout the period he governed Niger.

Wike said: There is no political dictator in Rivers State as far as PDP is concerned. That is why if there is any state the PDP is sure of winning any day any time in this country, I am sure you all know that it is Rivers State.
“That is not the case of Niger state. You saw the reply of the former President to him. He is a rabble-rouser and a perpetual blackmailer. He is a chronic liar and a serial betrayer,” he said.
He, however, asked the PDP NWC to immediately suspend Aliyu for sabotaging and undermining the party in the 2015 elections.
