Two persons suspected to be internet fraudsters, otherwise known as ‘Yahoo boys’ have reportedly died in a road crash while they were celebrating a newly-bought Lexus GX 460.
It was gathered that the incident happened on Monday night in Ikere Ekiti, headquarters of Ikere Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
Newsflash Nigeria gathered that one of the three yahoo boys who were inside the car bought the Lexus GX 460 which necessitated the celebration.
The celebration turned sour when they are ramming the car into a town roundabout, Ereja area along the Akure road in Ikere Local Government Area of the state around 12 midnight.
Two of the victims reportedly died on the spot after their vehicle rammed into a Fountain roundabout at the area while the remaining one was seriously injured and rushed to an undisclosed hospital.
The incident, although yet to be confirmed by the Ekiti State Police Command, occurred around 12:00 a.m on Monday and left the car damaged beyond repairs.
Two of the Yahoo boys, who were allegedly under the influence of substances, reportedly died on the spot after their vehicle rammed into the roundabout named ‘Fountain roundabout’.
The incident according to a reliable source who pleaded anonymity disclosed that “The accident took place near Ereja Roundabout at about 12a.m in the early hours of Monday.
“The Lexus car said to be purchased two days earlier and in which the victims was returning from night club when the incident happened.
“They were returning from a joint where they had gone to celebrate the arrival of the vehicle. The new vehicle rammed into a Fountain roundabout along the Ado- Akure road.
“The two of them died on the spot.”
Contacted in Ekiti on Thursday, the spokesman of the state command of the police, Sunday Abutu, said his office was yet to be briefed on the incident.
