TRENDING: Mixed Reactions As Bush Takes Over ‘Fayemi Health Centre’ In Ekiti

Nigerians have reacted to the abandoned Ekiti Health Centre allegedly built by former Ekiti State governor, Kayode Fayemi during his first administration.

Viral pictures seen by Newsflash Nigeria showed that the bushes have taken over the health center identified as Dr. Kayode Fayemi Health Center.

Newsflash Nigeria confirmed that the Health Center Building is located at Fabo Junction, Efon-Alaaye.

According to the report, the Health Center was built during the first administration of Kayode Fayemi and was donated by Hon Adio Folayan to the state government.

The source said the Kayode Fayemi government spent about N91bn on a primary healthcare facility and some of the projects were abandoned.

Though, the Biodun Oyebanji government has denied the allegation that the immediate past governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, expended N91bn on a primary healthcare facility that is now abandoned.

The Commissioner for Health, Br Oyebanji Filani, stated that the allegation “is outrageously false and intended to misinform the public.”

Filani, in a statement on Wednesday titled, ‘Press statement debunking the false claim on PHC facility in Ekiti State’, revealed that the alleged “amount was the total revised budget for the state in 2021.

“The facility is a community project carried out by a former local government chairman and is not under the administration of the Ekiti State Primary Healthcare Development Agency,” he said.

However, Fayemi Health Center has generated a lot of reactions on social media.

@MichaelFano3, In a country where Abacha has become A Saint. Why are these Politicians deceiving Nigerians like this?

@motundeblessing, I wish I could respond to things like this, but I am not on the government’s communication team. Projects like this fail or are abandoned not because the government is a scam but due to them not conducting a proper needs assessment…

@threefaceIdibia, He probably pocketed billions of dollars to build this hut. These politicians should be in jail for God’s sake.

@Ilesanm50940083, Fayose is a little bit better than JKF. Ekiti just had her own homely brought-up son as governor. I mean H.E. Biodun Oyebanji is a true son of the soil, he loves and cares for his people. I pray the wicked in APC don’t start to hate him cos he drops their agenda for Ekiti’s greatness.

@Yeribabaa, The false information circulated by @SaharaReporters is not only misleading but holds no salt.  First, as clearly indicated on the plaque at the site, the “Fayemi Health Centre” was not a state government project, but rather was donated by Hon Adio Folayan.

@KayKayl14, There is something of this nature on the road from Itawure to Okemesi in Ekiti-West Local Government) of the state. I was shocked when I saw it on that lonely road.

@wilsonakubobi, In a state where everybody is a Ph.D. holder. Ph.D. holders who voted for Tinubu

@Khairatbabe, This is d responsibility of d local government chairman.

Most health centers in Alimosho are renovated by the LG chairman not d governor. The LG chairman of that community should be held responsible.

@EjoOnyishi, That’s why all corrupt politicians are fighting Peter Obi presidential race and supporting a drug baron that’s deeply rotten in corruption, bcuz they’re afraid of Peter Obi corruption fight as not being part of the cartels, but Tinubu will cover them as their leader in the dirty game.

@Olakunle941, you guys can do better with your report, this particular health center is located at Fabo Junction, Efon-Alaaye. It was built for farmers living along the Iwaraja axis, what I could deduce from this might be a lack of personnel to manage the place or the wrong location.
