Tinubu Announces Changes in NIMC and DTAC Leadership
President Bola Tinubu has made some key appointments and changes in the leadership of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) and the Directorate of Technical Aid Corps (DTAC).
According to a statement by his spokesperson Ajure Ngelale, Tinubu has directed the current Director-General and CEO of NIMC, Aliyu Abubakar Aziz, to proceed on a 90-day pre-retirement leave starting from August 24, 2023. Aziz will officially retire from service on November 24, 2023.
In his place, Tinubu has appointed Bisoye Coker-Odusote as the acting Director-General and CEO of NIMC for a 90-day period. Coker-Odusote will assume office on August 24, 2023, and will be confirmed as the substantive NIMC Director-General/CEO for a four-year term on November 24, 2023.
Tinubu has also named Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub as the new Director and CEO of DTAC. Yakub will take over from Dr Pius Osunyikanmi, whose tenure has recently ended. Yakub’s appointment is effective immediately.
The president expressed his appreciation to Aziz and Osunyikanmi for their contributions to the development of NIMC and DTAC respectively. He also congratulated Coker-Odusote and Yakub on their new roles and urged them to work diligently to achieve the objectives of their agencies.
