Thunder struck on Monday and killed one Vincent Uche Mbanefo, a student of the Anambra State University, Igbariam while he was in his lodge at Achalla.
The incident occurred at about 5 p.m. during a heavy downpour and lightning.
SP Haruna Mohammed, command spokesman, in a statement on Tuesday, described the incident as “sudden and unnatural death”.

He said Police detectives attached to Achalla division visited the scene and rushed the victim to the hospital where he was certified dead by a medical doctor.
“Meanwhile deceased parents were immediately contacted, they came and conveyed the corpse for burial to their village in Aguleri”, Mohammed added.
