Theresa May’s Visit: Nigeria, Britain Signs Two Bilateral Agreements

Theresa May, Prime Minister of Britain, alongside President Muhammad Buhari witnessed the signing of two bilateral agreements on defence and security partnership and an economic development forum agreement.

This was disclosed in a tweet on the official handle of the Presidency, on Wednesday, in Abuja.

The agreement on Defence was signed by Babagana Monguno, the National Security Adviser, and the British Deputy National Security Adviser, Christian Turner, while the agreement on Nigerian Trade Development was signed by Nigeria’s Minister of State Budget and National Planning, Hajia Zainab Ahmed, and the British Minister of State for Trade Policy, George Hollingbery.

The tweets read: “President Buhari and Prime Minister May this afternoon in Abuja witnessed the signing of two agreements: a Security and Defence Partnership, and an Economic Development Forum Agreement.

“The Bilateral Agreement on Defence & Security Partnership was signed by National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno and the British Deputy National Security Adviser, Christian Turner.

“The Bilateral Agreement on Nigerian Trade Development by Nigerian Minister of State Budget & National planning, Hajia Zainab Ahmed and the British Minister of State for Trade Policy, George Hollingbery, MP.”

The British Prime Minister is currently on a tour of African countries. She arrived in the country on Wednesday, after her visit to South Africa.
