Tension in Ekiti as man kills Amotekun officer

There was a pandemonium broke out on Sunday afternoon, April 19, in Erijiyan Ekiti, in Ekiti West Local Government as man reportedly killed a member of the Western Nigeria Security Network code named Amotekun and also a motorcyclist.

Trouble report started after the Amotekun officer who was riding a motorcycle slightly hit a woman at Erijiyan Ekiti.

Source gathered that the motorcyclist (Amotekun Officer) stopped to assist the victim but she insisted on calling her son on the phone to notify him about the incident.

On getting to the spot the son of the woman, named Kehinde Awosusi was alleged to have carried a heavy stick and hit the motorcyclist on his head.

The man who is a member of the Western Nigeria Security Network code named Amotekun was drenched in blood and gave up while he was being rushed to the hospital.

The deceased, who is from Ikogosi Ekiti, prompting angry youths from Ikogosi Ekiti to invade Erijiyan town went on rampage destroying houses and attacking innocent people.

Members of the community were seen running helter shelter for the lives.

At the moment the alleged murderer and his mother have been arrested by the police for further investigation.
