Tell us the source of your money – Kemi Olunloyo reacts to Emmanuella’s feat
A journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, has reacted after the news of a YouTube child Comedienne, Emmanuella Samuel builds a house for her mother as an early Christmas gift.
The 10-year-old, who is renowned for her role in Mark Angel Comedy’s web series, took to her Instagram page on Saturday to share pictures of herself within the newly constructed building alongside family members.
“I built this for u mom. For all the prayers, all the encouragement, and support. Mummy I know you said u want a portable house and this is it,” she captioned the post.
“But forgive me because I must complete ur mansion for you next year. Don’t worry it won’t make us go to hell, My super Christmas mummy. I love you.”
Emmanuella started comedy when she was five. It is understood that she was on a family holiday when she met Angel, her colleague who needed children for his comedy shoot, and enlisted those he knew for an audition.
After they couldn’t memorize their lines, Angel was said to have turned to Emmanuella. Despite the eighteen-hour video shoot, a stunt he pulled to test the endurance of the kids, Emmanuella was said to have done well.
Following her selection, Angel convinced her parents to let her be a part of the Mark Angel Comedy team and got their approval.
Emmanuella would later become well known after the comedy skit ‘This is Not My Real Face Oh’.
In 2018, she was invited to the national assembly after she got a role in a Disney film. She also won the ‘Top Subscribed Creator’ prize of YouTube at the inaugural edition of the Sub-Saharan African YouTube Awards.
Emmanuella was named the ‘Best New Comedienne & Princess of Comedy’ at the Afro-Australia Music & Movie Awards (AAMMA) months after she had bagged the G-Influence Niger Delta Special Talent Award in 2015.
She has continued to thrill her audiences with hilarious jokes centered around the everyday life of the average Nigerian.
Meanwhile, the news of child comedienne, Emmanulla, building a house for her mom has left many people impressed.
However, for Kemi Olunloyo, there are some questions that need answering.
The journalist in a recent post on Twitter stated that such achievements like that of the child star need to be ‘elaborated in a professional way’.
According to her, Mark Angel – Emmanuella’s manager – should tell the media how she got the money to build the house.
Kemi opined that this would inspire other comedians and kids.
Olunloyo adviced the 10-year old kid Comedienne via her verified Twitter handles to teach other kids how to fish by revealing the source of the money used to build her mum a house.
She tweeted;
“EMMANUELLA: Public Relations Mgt is my 2nd degree. In PR when a 10yo comedian builds a house that achievement needs to be elaborated in a professional way. Mark Angel should tell media the EXACT source of her income used to build that house to inspire other young kids.
“Don’t just post all over the internet about a house that could have been built by her uncle Mark Angel for her mother and Emmanuella’s name used to upgrade her brand for more fans, followers and recognition.
“Nigerian mainstream newspapers don’t ask questions. Other young comedians and enterprising kids should know how they can make that money too.
“In Hollywood kids salaries are public information. Inspire other kids.
“The problem in Nigeria is everyone wants to show off their earnings without letting other know how to do the same”.
