Osun 2018: APC To Hold Guber Primary Election On July 7
The All Progressives Congress(APC) in Osun State has announced 7th July 2018 as the date to hold its primary election to decide the flag bearer in the September 22 gubernatorial election on the platform of the party.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy for the party, Kunle Oyatomi and made available to newsmen in Osogbo on Sunday.
APC in the statement called for the cooperation and spirit of sportsmanship among aspirants, saying the party will provide a level playing ground for all aspirants and ensure a credible process that will produce the best candidate.
The party admonished aspirants to show themselves as ‘worthy ambassadors’ for the electorate to repose confidence in them.
“The APC has hosted seven of the twenty-seven aspirants that registered with it as at Sunday, June 10, 2018.
“However, as their robust flag off campaign continues at the Party’s secretariat in Osogbo, the APC enjoined the aspirants to continue to pursue their ambition in the friendly and carnival-like atmosphere that has shaped campaign in the state.
“Those who had flagged off their campaign were Hon. Lasun Yussuff, Kunle Rasheed Adegoke Esq., Dr. Ezekiel Oyemomi, Dr. Abiodun Saka Layonu (SAN), Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, Alhaji Moshood Olalekan Adeoti and Dr. Peter Adebayo Babalola.
“As the saying goes, united we stand but divided we fall. The primary must not divide us. Whatever it is the outcome, we must unite to win in September, not only in our own best interest but also in the interest of the state and the good people of Osun,” the statement said.
