Gunmen kill recharge cards seller in Ekiti

Unknown gunmen killed a young recharge card seller, Olarewaju Oladapo Sikiri, on Wednesday, at Dalimore area of Ado Ekiti, the State capital.
Eyes witnesses said the trader, otherwise known as Alfa was murdered at about 10pm on Wednesday night.
The deceased was into sales of recharge cards and provisions at opposite CAC, Okeiye besides bricklayer hall Ado Ekiti.
The incident occurred after the trader closed from his shop at about quarter to ten in the night and was going home.
He was said to have been trailed to his residence behind Jonejay Hospital, at Dalimore area in Ado Ekiti where he was killed, with his valuables and money carted away.
Report says he just packed into the house just few months ago after he felt unsafe in his formal apartment.
Residents of the area who were deeply saddened by the incident called on the security agents to fish out the perpetrators.
According to them the deceased was a young enterprising man, diligent and respectful.
They confirmed that the man had been robbed several times even in his formal house.
When contacted, the Ekiti State Police Public Relations Officer ASP Sunday Abutu confirmed the incident.
He said: “Yes, he was reportedly shot dead by unknown gunmen while returning home from his shop at about 9:45 pm yesterday (Wednesday).
“His body had been evacuated and deposited in the mortuary.
“Meanwhile, preliminary investigation is ongoing for possible arrest of the culprits”.
