Governor Ayade Directs Commissioners, Others To Hand Over
Ahead of his second term inauguration on May 29, Cross River State Governor, Professor Ben Ayade, has hinted that he will reduce the number of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, MDAs, of his government to a manageable size.
There are currently 28 ministries with 60 departments and several agencies of government operating at various levels.
Speaking on the sidelines of an event with reporters in Calabar, the Governor said his second term in office is food on the table, hands on the ploughinsisting that his second term would be competitive for those who did well while those who have no value to add would give way.
In the same vein Governor Ayade directed all his Commissioners and other appointees of government to prepare their handover notes and forward same to him on or before April 26, 2019.
His Chief Press Secretary and Senior Special Assistant on Media, Christian Ita, said the Governor intends to reduce the size of his cabinet considerably for better service delivery.
He said Governor Ayade would run a smaller and tighter cabinet in his second term in office in order to engender a more focused administration.
