Students Protest destroy buildings, others over NYSC scheme

Students of College of Agriculture Yandev, Gboko, Benue State, have staged a violent protest over their rejection by NYSC to participate in one year mandatory service.

The students who were many in number destroyed college buildings, property and touched the ICT centre and destroyed computers.

One of the students who spoke to newsmen said they were rejected by NYSC officials because some courses offered by the college are not accredited.

Rector of the College Samuel Ahemen, who closed down the school promptly following the riot, said management would set up a committee to investigate circumstances surrounding the incident.
