Show your WAEC certificate – CUPP tells Buhari
The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to direct the Army Secretary to produce the certificate he tendered on the day he joined the Nigerian Army.
The coalition which expressed satisfaction with the West African Examination Council (WAEC) for providing the certificate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, which led to his clearance by in court.
A statement by CUPP National Publicity Secretary, Ikenga Ugochinyere, said the APC has failed in its attempt to push for the disqualificatio
“It gladdens our hearts that Senator Adeleke did not hire 13 SAN’s to frustrate the hearing of the case by filing numerous frivolous applications and appeals like President Muhammadu Buhari did when summoned to court to produce his own certificate,” the statement added.
It regretted that the Nigeria Police Force has turned itself as military wing of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led Federal Government by inviting Adeleke based on concocted allegation.
“The same Nigerian Police that refused to comment or take action on the now proven certificate forgery of former Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun for over two months when her scandal broke nor the continuing raging scandal of Mr. Okoi Obono Obla against whom the Registrar of WAEC had testified at a House of Representatives
“Since he was rewarded with appointment as Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris has not investigated nor prosecuted any official of this government for all the allegations of crime made against them.
“The politically induced summoning of Adeleke is like a wild goose chase, it will not achieve any noble end,” it added.
CUPP said it would resist any attempt to arrest any opposition candidate by the police just few hours before the Osun governorship election.
It added that attempt to compromise the officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security personnel deployed to monitor the Osun election would not stop APC defeat in the election.
“The good people of Osun State are hereby enjoined to be alert and vigilant and resist all forms of illegal arrest, doctoring of results and non-announcemen
“Even the APC knows that its days are numbered and that there is nothing it can do about it anymore,” CUPP boasted.
