Fayemi Denied US Visa, Tambuwal To Lead Govs’ Delegation To US

Ekiti State governor, Kayode Fayemi has denied a visa by the United States Embassy over the roles in electoral violence and other issues.

Newsflash247 gathered that some prominent Nigerians including the governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi placed on visa ban by the United States government over their roles in electoral violence and other issues.

Meanwhile, the governor of Sokoto State, Rt(Hon) Aminu Tambuwal will lead the Nigerian Governor’s Forum (NGF) delegation to the United States for a meeting facilitated by the Aliko Dangote Foundation in concert with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

This followed the denial of visa to Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State who was technically denied a visa by the United States Embassy.

Though the NGF had denied that the governor was denied the visa, a credible source at the US Embassy said the term “administrative process” is a polite way of saying someone is being denied a visa.

According to him, it was the same method applied in the case of Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last general elections as well as many other public and private individuals.

“The truth is Governor Fayemi was technically denied a visa. That is what “administrative process” is. It is a polite way of saying so. Atiku Abubakar was the same administrative process and many other public private persons.”Advertisement

On whether the trip has been cancelled, our source said Governor Tambuwal will now lead the delegation in place of Fayemi. He added that the delegation will depart Nigeria tomorrow.

“Governor Aminu Tambuwal will now lead the delegation to the US. They leave tomorrow to Seattle, Washington State to meet with Bill Gates

Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti State has described the United State of America decision not to grant entry visa to the governor of Ekiti State Dr Kayode Fayemi as a well deserved treatment for election rigger.

The Party said that the action of the American embassy didn’t come as a shock because it only confirmed the true position that the last Governorship election in the State was badly rigged for Fayemi despite warnings from the international communities that visa restrictions would be placed on election riggers.

PDP made this assertions in Ado Ekiti in a statements which was made available to journalists by the Party’s Publicity Secretary in the State, Mr Jackson Adebayo.

According to the Party, most of the Governors of the all Progressive Congress and the presidency had thought that they would always go away with wanton destruction of democratic ethos in their selfish attempt to rule by force without considering the consequences.

The Party however commended the USA for living by her promise of visa restrictions to those who partake in election manipulation in the country, saying that this action will serve as a deterent to others who see rigging as an element of democracy at least to a certain extent.

The Party maintained her position that the last year governorship election results was a product of a gross manipulation even after the election petition tribunals erroneously accorded Governor Fayemi legitimacy.

“We are however happy that our claims on the election has been validated by the visa ban on the governor and others who are the beneficiaries of the APC machinery of absurdity “

The Party called on the international communities to beam their watching light on Kogi and Bayesa State elections where the same APC rigging strategies are being perfected because the leadership of APC is awared that it can not win any election in Nigeria unless through ballot snatching, figure manipulation and concoction through intimidating and inducement.

“We want to authoritatively intimate the international communities that the 10 Billion Naira loan just aprroved for the government of Kogi State was specially designed to buy vote and security during the election while the minister of State of petroleum, Chief Timpere Silva have mobilised Billions of Naira from the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) for the Bayelsa State election “
