Reactions as commuter call Bus Stop close to Lekki Toll Gate as EndSARS bus stop
Commendations have trailed a tweet by @Abiy_Gboy, who revealed how she told a bus conductor to stop her at the ‘#EndSARS bus stop’ in Lekki.
In her tweet, she said, “In a bus going to Ajah, I told the conductor that he should stop me right before EndSARS bus stop.
“A policeman who was sitting in front responded immediately, ‘Which one is EndSARS bus stop? Is it not Lekki toll gate you mean? I repeated myself, ‘EndSARS bus stop, Ogà’.
“I was shock(ed) when the conductor replied to the police, ‘Oga, (I) have been waiting for a passenger to call that place EndSARS bus stop’.
“The vehicle got to the point and the conductor shouted EndSARS wa. I was glad because other young people and elderly people in the bus agreed with me.”
In addition, she said, “People can’t just be driving through that spot day in, day out and pretend as nothing happened there. The blood of energetic and wonderful Nigerians was spilt on that ground. I’m ‘bittered’ by it every (time) I pass through there.”

Other Twitter users have been commenting on her tweet, mostly with commendations and agreement that the bus stop close to the Lekki Tollgate and the toll gate itself, scene of the Lekki shootings of Tuesday, 20 October 2020 be named #EndSARS bus stop.
It would be recalled that one of the recommendations of the Lagos judicial panel was the renaming of the toll gate after the protest against police brutality and bad governance.
