Primary, secondary schools resume in Ekiti on Tuesday
All public and private primary and secondary schools level in Ekiti State are to resume for the second term 2021/2022 academic session on Tuesday, the government has announced.
It directed Public and Private Schools in the state to re-open for the Second Term of the 2021/2022 session from Tuesday 4th January 2022.
According to the school calendar approved and released by the State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, all public and private schools will resume on January 4 for the Second Term 2021/2022 academic activities.
The second term calendar will spend 14 weeks; from January 4 to April 8, 2022, including two days for the midterm.

Term From To Week
- 2nd Term – Tuesday 4th January 2022 to Friday 8th April 2022 (14Weeks).
- Mid Term – Thursday 17th February 2022 to Friday, February 18th 2022 (2days).
- Holiday – Saturday 9th April 2022 to Sunday, May 1, 2022 (3Weeks).
All Public and Private School Administrators are advised to adhere to COVID-19 protocols, ensuring the provision of gadgets and equipment for safety measures. Erring schools will be closed down indefinitely.
The Government urges the general public to duly observe COVID-19 safety protocols by wearing Nose Masks/Face Shields, observing social distancing, regular hand washing, and frequent use of alcohol-based hand sanitisers.
