Portable Reveals How He Won the Late Alaafian’s Widow, Queen Dami’s Heart in Viral Video
Popular street hop singer, Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, has openly admitted that he won the heart of the late Alaafin of Oyo’s widow, Queen Dami. The singer confirmed the relationship in a video that has gone viral on social media.
The video was taken from an interview that Portable had with Nedu Wazobia on the Honest Bunch Podcast. In the interview, Portable was asked about the rumours that he was in a relationship with Queen Dami, who lost her husband, the Alaafin of Oyo, two months ago.
Portable did not deny the rumours, but rather affirmed them, saying that “after king, na king”. He explained that Queen Dami had been his fan from the beginning and that their relationship became serious after the death of the monarch. He also said that he would not have pursued her if the king was still alive, out of respect for their marriage.
The rumours about Portable and Queen Dami started when screenshots of their chats were leaked online. The chats showed them exchanging sweet words and love emojis, calling each other “my king” and “my queen”.
Many Nigerians have reacted to the video, with some expressing shock, disgust, or amusement at Portable’s confession. Some have also questioned the morality and legality of his relationship with Queen Dami, who is still considered a widow under Yoruba tradition.

Queen Dami has not commented on the video or the rumours. She was one of the wives of the late Alaafin of Oyo, who died last year in April at the age of 83. The Alaafin was a revered traditional ruler who had over 20 wives and many children.
