Policeman Shot Driver Dead on motion In Ekiti because of N50
A commercial driver has lost his life at Oye Ekiti when Police on checkpoint allegedly shot at the driver on the motion.
According to an Eyewitness, Bamitale Oguntoyinbo, a former local government Chairman of the town, trouble began when police on checkpoint allegedly demanded a certain amount of money from the driver, which he said the driver turned down.
He added that Police van trailed the commercial driver who was on his way from Ilorin through Ayegbaju-Ifaki road before he was finally shot dead at Oye -Ekiti.
Oguntoyinbo a former chairman, Oye Local Government Area of Ekiti state further stressed that all passengers in the bus sustained various degrees of gun wounds.
All phone calls put to the commissioner of Police and Police Public Relations officer in the state were not answered as at the time of filling this report.
