Police Inspector caught on camera casting vote at APC congress; police reacts

Nigeria police Inspector has reportedly caught on camera where he casting vote during the state congress of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

It was gathered that the incident occurred on Saturday, October 16, at the APC State Congress in Kano State.

Newsflash Nigeria had reported that the APC had conducted the State Congress on Saturday, October 16 in Kano State and other 33 states, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The Kano State APC congress was conducted at the Sani Abacha Indoor Sports Hall and monitored by the party’s national headquarters and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

But there was a viral picture circulated on social media about one Inspector of Police identified as Bashir Mohammed of alleged casting vote at the Kano State APC congress.

According to the picture seen by Newsflash Nigeria, the Inspector of Police casting votes along with the newly APC party chairman identified as Abdullahi Abbas.

Newsflash Nigeria yet to confirmed maybe the inspector was assisting out the APC chairman put in the ballot paper carefully.

Meanwhile, the police have reacted to the trending picture on social media over the unprofessional conduct of the inspector.

In a press released by the Zonal Police Spokesman, DSP Abubakar Zayyanu Ambursa, said the Assistant of Inspector-General of Police (AIG) has been referred the matter to Zonal X- Squad for investigation.

“The attention of the Assistant of Inspector-General of Police (AIG), Zone one headquarters, Kano, has been drawn to a rending picture on social media of an inspector of police casting vote at the recently conducted Kano State Congress of APC along with his principal, the state party chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas.

“The inspector of police has been identified as Bashir Mohammed of the Special Protection Unit, Base one, Kano.

“The Inspector is attached to Government House, Kano from where he was deployed to work with the said Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas as a security aide.

“ In view of this seemingly unprofessional conduct of the inspector, the AIG has referred the matter to Zonal X- Squad for investigation. If the inspector is found to have committed disciplinary measures will be taking against him”.

“Finally, we want to assure members of the public that further development on the matter will be communicated please”, Police Zonal spokesman said.
