Police Declare Nurse Wanted for Singer Mohbad’s Death
The Lagos state police command has announced that the nurse who administered an injection to Mohbad, the popular singer, is the main suspect in his death.
The commissioner of police, Idowu Owohunwa, revealed this at a press conference on Friday afternoon.
According to Owohunwa, the nurse, whose identity has not been disclosed, was hired by Mohbad’s manager to treat him for an undisclosed ailment at his residence in Lekki.
He said the nurse gave Mohbad a dose of an unknown substance, which allegedly caused him to collapse and die shortly after.
The commissioner said the police have launched a manhunt for the nurse, who fled the scene after Mohbad’s death.
He also said the police have arrested Mohbad’s manager and some of his associates for questioning. He added that the police have obtained a court order to conduct an autopsy on Mohbad’s body to determine the exact cause of his death.
Owohunwa appealed to the public to provide any useful information that could lead to the arrest of the nurse. He also urged fans of Mohbad to remain calm and avoid any form of violence or protest.
Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Oladimeji, was a rising star in the Nigerian music industry. He was known for his hit songs such as “Koma Jensun”, “Ponmo Sweet” and “Sorry”. He was 27 years old.
