PDP Won Benue In 2015 Elections- APC Governorship Aspirant Speak Out
Mike Iordye, an All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial aspirant in Benue State has averred that it was the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that won the governorship election in 2015.
The governorship aspirant, who stated this while declaring his intention to contest for the governorship on the platform of the APC, debunked allegation that if an APC candidate emerged governor of the state in 2019, it would repeal the anti-open grazing law.
He stated that even though Governor Samuel Ortom won the election on the platform of the APC, and it was actually the PDP that won the 2015 election.
Iordye, who stated that Ortom was not a member of the APC and that now that he has left, the party would now take back its mandate.
The APC aspirant, who went to court alongside others to challenge the victory of Ortom in court, noted that they had no option than to withdraw from the case because it dawned on them that the PDP candidate, Terhemen Tarzoor, might carry the day.
He said it would have benefitted the PDP more had Ortom lost the case; hence they took the decision to let go of the case at the last minute.
His words: “Now that he (Ortom) has left I want you to know PDP won the elections in 2015 and not the APC.
“He (Ortom) came from PDP and went back, so we are continuing from where we stopped” in 2015.
While Iordye stated that the Anti-open grazing law has come to stay, he said the state government was yet to commence the implementation of the law, which he pledged to implement, if given the opportunity to become governor in 2019.
