Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti State have compelled a senator representing Ekiti South Senatorial District, Biodun Olujimi, to contest in the 2022 governorship election in the state.
The decision was taken after the Ekiti South Stakeholders meeting held in Omuo Ekiti, on Sunday, convened by a PDP leader, Chief Nelson Shaba.
This was contained in a resolution signed by representatives of the six local government areas which make up the senatorial district.
A copy of the resolution was made available to journalists, in Ado Ekiti, on Sunday.
The document read in part, stakeholders, “resolved to sink the differences among leaders and members to enhance a harmonious and peaceful implementation of the South Agenda.
“The South Agenda Committee resolved to compel Senator Biodun Olujimi, to contest the 2022 PDP governorship primary, as a viable option of representation of the south senatorial district.”
It was also resolved that local government representatives should revert to their respective local governments for further consultation and sensitization on the agenda while also agreeing to set up a sub-committee to reconcile aggrieved party members in the zone.
