Former Kogi State governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris who is the leader of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, has predicted that come 2019, his party will reclaim its mandate which was taken over by the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the 2015 election.
Alhaji Idris who made the prediction after the successful conduct of the ward congresses of the PDP across the state, maintained that they have “learnt their lessons from the mistakes of the past.
“PDP is not in disarray, we have learnt our lessons from the mistakes of our past leaders,” the former governor stated. Alhaji Idris explained that with the happenings in the state, where all the people were being marginalized, it has angered the people and has given hope and courage to the opposition.
He told Journalists that his party has perfected mobilisation process to ensure acceptance of them in the state.
Idris, who ruled the state for nine years told reporters that his assignment to conduct a credible congress at the ward levels was peaceful, free and successful.
The ex governor assured the people of PDP ‘s readiness to correct the damage and untold hardship meted out on them by the APC administration led by Alhaji Yahaya Bello. The PDP congress was held on Saturday in the 239 wards across the state without hitches, while those of the local governments are expected to be held on Wednesday.
