PDP Senator Donates Food Items to APC State Secretariat in Ekiti
…Don’t Politicise it, hunger is not a member of any political party ~ Says Olujimi
The Senator representing the Ekiti South Senatorial District, Mrs Biodun Olujimi under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has donated the food items to the ruling of the All Progressives Congress, APC, State Secretariat, Ado Ekiti, the state capital.
Olujimi donated truckloads of food support to the establishment of the ruling APC in the state. The Items which included Bags of Rice, Packs of Noodles, Sugar, Garri among others were received by the APC State Chairman, Barrister Paul Omotoso, on behalf of the party.
This development has however triggered public discussion and engagements particularly, among political class across the 16 Local Government Areas of the state.
Some said the gesture had further revealed the ineptitude of the ruling APC-led government while some believe it was an attempt by the opposition party PDP to humiliating the APC.
However, many commended the Senator for her all-inclusiveness in the delivery of dividends of democracy.
Meanwhile, Senator Biodun Olujimi, has cautioned the viral misrepresentation of her palliative support to the people of the state, in some quarters of the media.
In reaction, Olujimi said it was mischievous of anyone to politicize the gesture which she said was borne out of genuine love for the Ekiti project.
“It is unacceptable for anyone to attach any political sentiment to this. Ekiti belong to all of us and it is the responsibility of all of us to provide for all. Hunger is not a member of any political party. Therefore, my giving to APC is giving to Ekiti people”.
Furtherance to the last week’s disbursement of N10,000 each to 2000 residents of Ekiti State, Senator Olujimi had on Monday, April 5, 2019 donated truckloads of food support to the establishment of the ruling All Progressives Congress in the state.
