PDP: Saraki, Secondus Inspect Presidential Campaign Office

The Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, and the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, on Tuesday, inspected the party’s Presidential Campaign Office in Maitama in preparatory to the commencement of the nationwide presidential campaign.

Saraki, who is also the Director General, Atiku Presidential Campaign Organisation, however assured the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of victory in the February 16, 2019 presidential election.

The Senate President said that everything is set for the party to conduct one of the best presidential campaigns in history as Nigerians are anxiously waiting for the party.

Saraki noted that every hand must be on deck to see off the All Progressives Congress (APC) to save the nation’s democracy and rescue the country.

Conducting the Senate President round the campaign complex, Secondus said that the rebranded and repositioned party is ready to go to Nigerians with issues when the campaign begins.

He stressed that the party hopes to have a very successful electioneering just like their just completed primaries that was climaxed with the landmark national convention.
Saraki was accompanied on the inspection of the campaign office by members of the National Working Committee of the party and other critical stakeholders of the party.

Meanwhile, Atiku has welcomed the news that the federal government has agreed to pay the N30,000 minimum wage it had previously negotiated with the organised labour.
While expressing his commitment to the living wage, Atiku said one of the pillars of his soon to be launched policy document is making workers welfare a priority.

The former Vice President in a statement yesterday by his campaign organisation said that the Nigerian worker is the goose that lays the golden egg and is worthy of the best pay that Nigeria can afford.
He commended the patriotism displayed by the leadership of the Nigerian Labour Congress and its affiliates in calling off the planned nationwide strike.

Atiku however called on the National Assembly to speedily pass legislation that makes the new Minimum Wage a statutory requirement.
