PDP NWC cancels Ekiti stakeholders meeting; constitutes Appeals Committee on Governorship Primary Ward Congress

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has cancelled the meeting of PDP leaders with Ekiti stakeholders scheduled for today, Wednesday.

The Party also constituted the Ward Congresses Electoral Appeal Committee to consider appeals arising from the conduct of 3-Man ad-hoc Ward Congresses ahead of the June 18, 2022, Ekiti governorship election.

Newsflash Nigeria had earlier reported that the PDP NWC had invited the Ekiti State stakeholders to a crucial meeting.

The meeting will take place on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at PDP National Headquarters, Wadata Plaza, Abuja at 3 pm.

But the party’s National Secretary, Senator Samuel N. Anyanwu on Wednesday morning released a statement that the meeting has been cancelled

According to the party’s National Secretary said the cancelled the meeting beyond the control of the Party and a new date will be communicated in due course.

“This is to bring to the attention of all members that the meeting of PDP leaders with Ekiti stakeholders scheduled for today, Wednesday, January 19, 2022 has been canceled.

“This is due to reasons beyond the control of the Party. A new date will be communicated in due course.

“The Party regrets all inconveniences this cancellation has caused the invitees, Sen. Samuel N. Anyanwu said.

Meanwhile, the party has constituted the Ward Congresses Electoral Appeal Committee to consider appeals arising from the conduct of 3-Man ad-hoc Ward Congresses ahead of the June 18, 2022, Ekiti governorship election.

In a statement released on Wednesday by Party’s National Organizing Secretary, Hon. Umar M. Bature.

He said the exercise is scheduled for Thursday, January 20, 2022, at the NWC Hall, Wadata Plaza, Abuja.

“The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has constituted the Ward Congresses Electoral Appeal Committee to consider appeals arising from the conduct of 3-Man ad-hoc Ward Congresses ahead of the June 18, 2022, Ekiti governorship election.

2. H.E. Dr. Ibrahim H. Dankwambo (Member)

3. Amb. Dr. Mrs. Kema Chikwe (Member)

4. Dame Dr. Esther Uduehi (Member)

5. Barr. Kingsley Chukwu (Member)

6. Barr. Musa Elayo (Member/Secretary)

“The exercise is scheduled for Thursday, January 20, 2022, at the NWC Hall, Wadata Plaza, Abuja.

“All petitions and concerns are to be submitted at the National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja ahead of the exercise.

“All governorship aspirants, leaders and critical stakeholders of our great Party in Ekiti state should please take note”.
