PDP Crisis: LP Presidential Candidate Peter Obi Storms Wike’s Residence
The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, on Friday, paid a visit to the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike in Port Harcourt.
LP presidential candidate was not the first time met Wike, chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), both men met on June 22, 2022.
Recall that the embargo placed on political campaigns by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was lifted on September 28th, 2022.
The closed-door meeting between Peter Obi and Wike on Friday lasted for a few hours at the governor’s private residence in Port Harcourt.
Wike shared the pictures of the meeting on his Twitter handle on Friday.
He wrote, “It was nice hosting my brother @PeterObi once again.”
Although details and outcome of the meeting were not known, the meeting was coming amid allegations and counter allegations of bribery within the PDP fold.
Peter Obi also met with Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State in Ibadan, Oyo State capital.
In a tweet via his Twitter handle on Friday, the former Governor of Anambra State said he met with Makinde in Ibadan as part of his consultations to become the next President in 2023.
The LP Presidential candidate added that they both had very frank and constructive discussions.
He wrote: “I was at Ibadan, and I visited my brother and friend, HE Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo State as part of my consultations ahead of the 2023 general elections.
“We had very frank and constructive discussions.”
