PDP condemn Fayemi, APC over N11bn road refund
The people’s Democratic party in Ekiti state has described as barbaric the latest move by the minister of solid minerals resources, Dr Kayode Fayemi to stop the Federal government from refunding the 11 Billion Naira owed the state on road construction.
The party said the action of the former Governor of the state has further established his hatred for the workers and interest of the state.
In a statement by the State Publicity Secretary of PDP, Mr Jackson Adebayo during the weekend, Fayemi and All Progressive Congress potency for retardation of the progress of Ekiti state was described as second to none which has come to stay as the permanent culture of the opposition party both in and out of government.
PDP maintained that the celebration of the stoppage of the refund by the APC on social media has not only come to confirm the belief of an average Ekiti man that the opposition party is a true enemy of the masses and an albatross alternative in Ekiti state.
The party spokesman explained that the deep ignorance and unpatriotic display by the APC members over the matter especially raising the question on how allocations are been spent instead of joining hand in demanding what’s the right and resources accrued to Ekiti state is very demeaning and appalling.
He stressed that as a former Governor of the state who instituted several draconian policies against workers then which led to his humiliation at the poll, Fayemi is expected to have learnt some lessons but unfortunate the reverse is the case.
The APC upon which platform, the minister is riding like a colossus, Adebayo said is another experience that no Nigerian would want to repeat itself to talk less of Ekiti state where the party’s tradition is wickedness and economic pilferage, saying Fayemi ought to understand this before making the inglorious move to stop money owed Ekiti state by the Federal government.
PDP challenged the minister and his party to explain to people of the state the reasonability in this callous extension of the Federal government deliberate economic humiliation of Nigerian to the state, saying that APC ought to have left the workers to get their salary arrears and play their politics with the politician alone.
Adebayo said PDP wouldn’t have been worried if the said refund does not have direct implication on the welfare of the civil servants in the state, adding that the efforts of Governor Ayo Fayose to offset the salary arrears of workers before the end of his tenure should not be compromised by a supposed reasonable individual and a party that meant well for the State.
He said anybody that believes he is fighting the governor at the expense of workers welfare should be regarded not only an enemy of the state but a devil incarnate.
